Zemarah Lott, who proudly goes by Coach Ze, discovered her passion for volleyball early, beginning her competitive journey in 7th grade. She played multiple positions before finding her true calling as a setter, where she shined on her high school varsity team. Alongside her school career, Ze competed for three years in club volleyball, with two of those memorable seasons spent at Houston Force.
After graduating, Ze chose to turn her lifelong love for the sport into a coaching career. Returning to Force as a coach feels like a homecoming, and she is excited to pour into the next generation of athletes with the same energy and passion that shaped her own journey. Her mission is simple: to inspire, uplift, and leave a lasting impact on the athletes she works with.
Coach Ze believes volleyball is more than just a sport—it’s a platform for teaching life lessons. She sees coaching as an opportunity to instill values such as character, integrity, communication, and resilience. Her approach adapts to each age group: with older athletes, she emphasizes focus on long-term goals and executing with purpose; with younger players, she brings her goofiest, most encouraging self to make practices fun, engaging, and safe for mistakes.
At the core of her philosophy is the importance of fundamentals. She believes proper technique and strong foundational skills give athletes the tools they need to grow, thrive, and succeed as they advance in their volleyball careers.
